Shadows can be bent twisted and moved into any direction, the only downfall is that they move slower than a slug in daylight. By harnessing the power of shadow they can control their enemies or strangle them with inhuman strength.

Personality: Miyako is not the least stuck up, she believes that every one should be excepted. She believes that a good first impression is very important even though she is not good at making a good one at times herslef. Miyako is a tad shy, but it does not keep her from speaking out when she feels that she needs to speak her mind. She may be a bit headstrong at times but she is normally a nice person. Other times she can be a bit distant. She loves to have fun, and has a tendency to tell people she loves them. But if she says that, it's true. Miyako isn't the type of person to see her glass has half empty, she see's the world as art, not a vast land of dispair. She likes to run because it makes her feel elated and weightless.
History:At the start of her life, Miyako seemed as if her future was meant to be one of get hope and promise. She had been born into the famous Nara clan of the Hidden Leaf Village to two caring parents who were both experts in their own fields. There was his father, a member of the ANBU Black Ops who had conducted a series of daring missions for the good of the village and then there was his mother, who had worked as a researcher in one of the many Nara clan labs, who worked to develop many substances used by the medical corps of Konoha and was responsible for saving many lives.
As the girl first began to develop and grow, it seemed as if she too would be destined to follow in her fathers footsteps to greatness as a Shinobi as even during the time in which he attended the ninja academy, with her fathers instruction, she began to be able to stretch her own shadow and within a matter of months had she managed to take possession of a group of squirrels. This Nara was shaping up to be quite the prodigy.
Inside of the Academy at the same time, the young girl maintained a constantly bright and cheerful personality always volunteering the answers and trying his hardest to be the top of his class and often succeeding. For the longest time, Miyako was actually mildly disliked because of just how much of “a know it all” and how skilled she was in the Ninjutsu arts. Of course things were going too smoothly and as with most things that follow this path there came a horrible crash.
After six months in the Academy, Miyako, as a gift from her, father received a handheld video game console. At first this proved to be of little entertainment value and was cast aside as junk which she simply wouldn't ever have time to utilize as she was always too busy perfecting her ninja arts. As time wore on, the second nail in the coffin came as during a training exercise involving leaping from pillar to pillar to improve ones balance, another student in his envy tripped the young Nara sending her for a fall that resulted in two broken legs for the girl.
Being forced into bed rest for the time being, the video game held its first appeal to her. Having read over her Academy text book multiple times, it was her final option and so she set forth into the world of video gaming. At first it was only a little at a time but as she played on, she became more and more intrigued with the small device and as time wore on she grew more and more attached. By the time her legs had healed, she had even stooped to making false reports of pain in order to remain home and further spend time with her video games.
Eventually at his fathers insistence, the young Nara returned to the academy where her improvement according to his instructors ceased to occur, in fact, her overall skill level had decreased several times. It was noted that the only time any significant performance was viewed was when a reward centering around her ability to play games was present and at those moments her former self shined through.
Analyzing the situation, a solution was developed and the girls gaming console taken from her. It was then told to the girl that pending her graduation from the Academy, not only would be allowed her games back, but she would received the most up to date hand held that was on the market. This of course provoked a strong showing from the girl who went into the coming exams with a vengeance taking to the challenges before her with fury. Passing every test presented before her and being granted the ranking of Genin, she graduated toward the top of his class, all thanks to the promise which had been made.
Unfortunately for the girls father, one thing hadn't been anticipated, that thing was price. Going into a local vendor to retrieve the girls reward, the man nearly had a stroke upon seeing the price of the game and it was only after being awaken from a fainting spell that the man managed to purchase the device for his daughter. Now with hand held in toe, the girl ventures out into the world of the shinobi, unwillingly and not so eager to see what it holds for her.

The Shadow Imitation Technique allows the user to extend their shadow for as far as it has sufficient area. Once it comes into contact with a target's shadow, the two merge and the target is forced to imitate the user's movements. Therefore, the two can throw shuriken at each other at the same time if the user desires that. (Of course, to prevent hurting themselves, the user just has to have the shuriken holster in a place where you don't normally have it, like the back.) If the target is out of range, the user can produce a better light source to increase their shadow's size or rely on preexisting shadows for their shadow to freely travel through. The major downside of the Shadow Imitation is that it is tiring to use repeatedly; Hidan notes that the ability is subject to some form of diminishing return and decreases in potency after repeated use. If the user is low on chakra, the performance rate of the technique also deteriorates. Insufficient lighting will make the jutsu less effective. A particularly strong opponent can also resist the shadow's forced imitation. Shikaku Nara calls this jutsu by its old name: the Shadow Bind Technique (影縛りの術, Kage Shibari no Jutsu; English TV "Shadow Paralysis Jutsu"). The old version simply paralyzed the target. The imitation aspect was apparently added sometime between Orochimaru's defection from Konoha and his later invasion of the village.

After capturing an opponent with the Shadow Imitation Technique, the user can then further extend their shadow up to the target's throat in the shape of a hand, which chokes them to death. Also, if the Shadow Imitation Technique isn't making the opponent copy their movements, this can be used to bind opponent's body in order to restrain them. The closer the user is to their opponent, the tighter the strangle will become. This technique cannot be used for an extended period of time.

This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise, which Sasuke has done twice in the anime. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.
The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible. Konohamaru uses this technique constantly in the beginning of the Naruto series to try and fool Naruto Uzumaki, but uses poor disguises (square rocks with eyeholes, cloaks that are incorrectly patterned or the wrong way round, or simply not covering himself completely), thus betraying the illusion. In the anime, Naruto has been somewhat practical at using this jutsu a couple of times.

Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)

This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily boost the user's reflexes. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance between the user and their intended destination. Shisui Uchiha, one of the most talented Uchiha, was feared as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" ("Shunshin no Shisui"), likely referring to this technique. The Body Flicker technique has various variations among the different hidden villages, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand. Gaara, for instance, uses the "Sand Body Flicker" (Suna-Shunshin), which uses sand to cover his movements. Other varieties include the "Mist Body Flicker" (Kiri-Shunshin), "Water Body Flicker" (Mizu-Shunshin), and "Leaf Body Flicker" (Konoha-Shunshin).
RP sample: Traps didn't measure up anymore in the ninja world it seemed, with each generation being expected to surpass the one prior to it, not even the clever Nara clan was exempt from falling behind the trend of being forgotten and found to be useless in a battle if their skills couldn't meet what was expected. Miyako was a thinker, she specialized in outsmarting her opponent's and using a number of traps along with her Shadow Possession jutsu and she had come to realize as of late that if she was ever going to improve, she would have to find a way to be able to go toe to toe with enemies and not hide behind her teammates when she wasn't using shadow possession. Another issue was the fact that while her tricks might work on Ninja within Konoha who are trusting of her, issues would arise if she were to try them on anyone else, that was why Miyako had come to the conclusion that she had to improve.
It hadn't been an easy choice to make, Miyako had struggled with it for quite some time, the idea of actually working hard to try to improve her overall ninja skills absolutely terrified her. She wasn't used to working hard and her video games had kept her away from a life of hard work ever since she had even become a Genin. It did however start to become painfully apparent that at her current rate of growth, she was destined to be subpar and looked down upon all of her life if she didn't find a way to improve.
Her father had always been her harshest critic, often telling her about how lazy she was and generally making her feel useless because her techniques weren't as actively and engaging as his own. Infact ehe couldn't even really blame him for that because in truth she always felt as if she wasn't carrying her own weight in any of the ninja activities she was a part of. She more often then not when fighting against her father or working with him relied on using a jutsu or two then running away and letting people forget she was there before trying another technique and it had really started to take its toll upon her.
So now here she was, on the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf Village trying to decide the direction in which to take her training. Standing on the boarder of a clearing and a densely forested part of the village, Miyako had chosen this location due to the fact that it provided her both with an ideal training local but the trees at this time of day were casting large enough shadows that she could use them for her techniques and to perfect them as she saw fit. There was also the added benefit that if anything were to go wrong this area was frequently used so someone would certainly find her.
Now standing beside a large tree, a book in her right hand and a look of utter determination spread across her face, Miyako’s face visibly reddened as she examined the pages. Completely focused on the words of the pages, the young Nara, now with a renewed desire to improve herself took a deep breath before reading aloud "And so the handsome male gently touched her soft breast..." Before pausing and twitching and looking at the book.
"EVERYTHING I NEED TO BECOME A LADY MY FOOT!" Miyako shouted throwing down her copy of Makeout Paradise that had been suggested to her by the book salesmen in the village. Miyako had wondered why the guy had chuckled the entire time she was making the transaction and now everything was becoming painfully clear. "Now what in the heck am I supposed to do to improve..."
