Training: Chakra, Speed, Strength

The sun was shining, like a giant-golden orb, floating in the cyan sky. There was not a cloud in sight. The weather was truly beautiful. Birds were cawing happily in the green trees, and the wildlife was roaming around the forest. Some of the trees blocked out the sun, casting intruiging shadows upon the ground. But Maraku didn't mind. Today was a beautiful day.

Maraku was walking happily through the forests of Kusagakure. Today he was going to train his two taiijutsu techniques, as well as practice one he had thought up the night before. He was quite excited, but also rather nervous. He had only planned this jutsu out logically in his head, but actually doing it would be a whole different story.

"At least the weather's on my side." Maraku thought happily to himself, the sun beaming down on his happy face. After walking for about 15 minutes, Maraku saw a clearing in the distance. That was his destination. It was one of his favorite training spots, mainly because it was quiet. Maraku was still rather excited, and he felt the emotion run up through his body. He picked up his pace from a walk to a slow jog.

A few minutes later, Maraku approached the clearing. He lay his backpack with some food and a few other things on the nearby log. The log had been there for as long as Maraku could remember. He just assumed it was a fallen tree or something. Wherever it had come from, it sure had it's uses from time-to-time. Maraku took a few steps in to the middle of the clearing, and took a deep breath.

Maraku thought about warming up, but he had just taken 20 minutes or so to walk here. Also, apart from being excited he had jogged the last few minutes for an ulterior motive. To help warm himself up. By doing a few stretches he made absolutely certain he wouldn't strain his body. There didn't seem to be anybody around incase anything did go wrong. "I'm sure I'll be fine." Maraku re-assured himself, in his head.

Now, it was time to practice his taijutsu. He would start off with the two taijutsu techniques he knew very well already: Cherry Blossom Impact and Painful Sky Leg. He was rather fond of these jutsu since he had learned them in the academy. They were both variant of the same jutsu, and Maraku was equally good at both, he would use whichever created more ease for him in battle, though they mainly had the same effect.

Maraku's right fist lay limply at his side. He concentrated for a moment, then it felt full of energy. He looked down at his fist, and it pulsating with his bright-blue chakra. It took him great chakra control in order to do this, but seeing as he had been doing it for so long, it was like second-nature to him now. "Still, practice makes perfect." Maraku chuckled in his mind.

Lifting his fist up to shoulder height, Maraku shouted: "Cherry Blossom Impact!" With all his might, he brought his fist crashing to the ground. He felt it smash through the first interior of the earth, then he pulled it out. He looked at his fist for a moment, then the ground. The ground was shaking and disrupting. Peices of earth fell through crevises and other were wedged up against two. Maraku found the sight quite amusing, laughing to himself out-loud.

"You're going to have to be able to take more than that, Mother Nature." He chuckled. Next, was the Painful Sky Leg taijutsu. Used in the same way as Cherry Blossom Impact, he just had to focus the chakra to his foot, rather than his fist. Maraku liked to use this justu mainly with his heel, as it hurt him using the front of his foot. The main difference between Cherry Blossom Impact and Painful Sky Leg was, Painful Sky Leg often requires Maraku to be in the air to pull it off correctly.

Maraku turned around and jumped up on to the log next to his backpack, giving him several inches of extra height to aid him in his jump. He bent his knees, and pushed off the log somewhat like a kangaroo, leaping into the air. He felt the wind slashing against his body. He brought his leg up as far as he could, so his eyes were looking directly at his foot. As he begun his descent, he concentrated his chakra, this time to his heel. And let gravity bring him back down to earth.

When his body was only a few inches from the ground, he brought his leg smashing down, through the earth. Maraku felt even more disruption, and pulled it out again. Even more of the area had been battered and dislodged. If this kept up, he was going to have to call it a day soon because this area would become unfit for practice.

Now it was time for his third and final jutsu he planned on practicing today. He had only thought of the jutsu the night before, and had spent several hours drawing diagrams on how it would work and what results it would have. His results had shown it would be rather inaccurate, but he would have to work on that over time.

First of all, Maraku practiced concentrating chakra in the tips of his fingers. It was quite a hard body place to concentrate chakra in, especially with his smaller tenketsu. Though they did have their uses at times. His fingertips began to glow blue, telling him he had succeeded. "Excellent." Maraku smiled.

The next step would be to get enough height to pull the manover off. Maraku used the same technique he had used for Painful Sky Leg, but it wasn't enough height. He looked at his surroundings to see if there was anything which could help him. Then he saw it. A tree which had been pushed further down to the earth by the shockwaves of his taijutsu earlier. He walked over to the tree, and clambered on to it. He began slowly walking up it, until he was at the edge. He was a good 10m off of the ground now. He concentrated chakra in the souls of his feet, as he didn't feel too safe without doing so. "This should be high enough." Maraku thought.

Then, he jumped off of the branch and in to the air. The branch sprung slightly as he did sow, being so far from the bough of the tree. Maraku flipped his legs behind him, and kept them straight, one slight crossed over the other. Then, he reached out his hands infront of him, and concentrated the chakra to his fingertips, like he had practiced. He put the palms of his hands together, and began to spin around in the wind. He could see his chakra flowing all around in front of him. To any passerby, it would look as if a blue drill were dropping out of the sky, hence why Maraku named this jutsu- "Spinning Drill!" he shouted, his voiced swirling through the wind.

Then, he felt contact with the earth. His whole body went slicing through it, in a perfect shape for him. Finally, Maraku ran out of force, and stopped spinning. He stood up, breathless. He hadn't expected the jutsu to be so flawless on his first try. He ran up the hole he had created which was rather deep. Pulling himself out, with a beaming smile on his face. He had completed the basics of the jutsu. Next time he would have to use it in battle to improve it.

Maraku contemplated making a mud clone to fight against, but he had already had enough taijutsu for today. He grabbed his backpack, made sure he had everything with him. He took one last glance at the smashed up wasteland he had made. Then, he headed off home...
